On Sunday, December 4, 2016, Pastor Martin T. Pickett and Mrs. Abby Pickett met with Dr. Mark Grapin, Rev. John Baynham, Sister Shelia Baynham, Sister Geri Terry, Brother David Williams and Sister Shayna Williams at the Pickett residence. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Pastor Pickett’s direction from God to continue in ministry and preach the Gospel in and out of season. 

After prayer and dialogue, as Pastor Pickett revealed God’s word about ministry and freedom to use his gifts, the group agreed with Pastor Pickett and decided to move forward. The next steps were to name the new church and acquire rental space at a central location. With the aid of the community, family, friends and the new “members” God provided a location, thus Faith Encounters Community Church was established and the first worship service was held at Vienna Assembly of God Church, (Pastor Craig Burns) located at 100 Ayr Hill Avenue, NW, Vienna, VA 22080 on December 12, 2016, and the first Wednesday night Bible Study was December 15th. 

By word of mouth Church membership rapidly grew from eight to over seventy members since December 2016 and Pastor Pickett and Faith Encounters Community Church have been blessed to have performed a wedding, baptism and several baby dedications. Thus, today we take time to give God all honor and praise for trusting us with this missive. It is our prayer that all who worship with us will have a FAITH Encounter.
